Enanitos Verdes and Hombres G delivered an enormous nostalgic pack set at The Majestic Theater in San Antonio, TX. In the Huevos Revueltos tour, both bands shared the same stage at the same time; they will alternate from one another’s set list. But also one band would leave the stage, so the other band can have it completely to themselves. Basically, the name of the tour explains it all. This idea really works, and it’s a very unique way to combine a handful of greatest in one set list from two different bands.
There wasn’t a single song where the crowd was calm and quiet; everyone knew every single lyric from the set list. It was insane. I mean, everyone was taken back to when they were young and barely recognizing what was it like to be in and out of love. With songs like “Te quiero”, “Luz de dia”, “Venezia”, “Mi primer dia sin ti”, who wouldn’t be feeling mixed lost feelings from the past.
Don’t get me wrong, the crowd wasn’t just filled with people from the music’s main generation (which happens to be mainly from the 80s), but also young millennial kids were in the crowd. My point hereis that Enanitos Verdes and Hombres G’s music has been around for so many years and has managed to capture the ears of a many new generations of listeners. Their songs were never forgotten; instead they have been cemented in the musical atmosphere.
Obviously the show was ended by each of the bands biggest and memorable hits: “Devuelvame a mi chica” and “Lamento boliviano”. Before the bands came out to perform those two hits, they made us wait a while for the encore. The crowd was getting so desperate that they started singing “Devuelvame a mi chica” in unison and in its entirety, I swear that was something so pure and beautiful to experience. Finally the bands came out and finished conquering our hearts with their most greatest hits.
Enanitos Verdes and Hombres G together are something worth seeing if you are a fan of nostalgic hits, cool latin rock music, and confused with your lonely love life.
