Natalia Lafourcade blessed us with another mesmerizing concert at San Antonio’s Aztec Theater during her last US Tour date. Opening her set with “Mi tierra veracruzana” and then with a classic Frank Dominguez cover “Tú me acostumbraste”. Everyone was swaying away to her romantic rhythms, falling in love with her enchanted charisma, and gradually getting lost with her intimate smile. Or maybe that was just me, but she’s a total true artist who dedicates herself to her people.

The night got even better when she paid tribute to the late Jose Jose, who just passed away last month, with one of his greatest hits “El Triste”. The night ended with another tribute to the late Juan Gabriel, singing “Ya no vivo por vivir”, a song she collaborated on with Juan Gabriel. She recalls Juan Gabriel telling her that she needed to get out and go live her life the fullest around the world, enjoy while it’s there in front of her. Something we all need to do every once in a while.

Natalia appeared to be enormously grateful for ending her US tour at the Aztec Theater, grateful that we all came along on a Sunday night to show her our love for her music, and I guess she was also grateful that we live in the same universe as she does.
